yet nothing plugged in

(not hooked up to the surge protector)
it sleeps as i work.
(it's blinking light informs)
i got a nite-light
(i am afraid of the dark)
it burns all day
got an alarm clock
it ticks 24/7
yet only wakes me up once a day
got a dvd
its red informs that it is ready for use
as does my vcr
(have not pushed play on either in months)
got a hand held dirt devil
its on its ever regenerating electrical stand
got a cell phone
its re-upping...
