early observations and foreseeing.
1. the yankees are scoring a disproportionate amount of runs via the long ball.
this is a recipe for disaster.
2. they will ride garcia and colon into the ground
(there is no investment beyond this year)
if either or both hit a wall in august-so be it
1 or more of the kids will be ready or they will make a deal
(think brett myers or livan hernandez)
3. you can't steal 1st base
gardner has to hit
(reggie jackson said this kid should be able to run .250)
4.posada has to hit or by the break-chavez will get at bats
5. russell martin is the best under-the-radar-pick up (so far)
they enter May with a victory...
