i decided to celebrate the day

by cooking a special meal.

APPETIZER:

Baked stuffed scallops

(store bought 9 for $3.49)

squeeze of fresh lemon

(succulent)

foreplay...

ENTREE:

Shepherds pie

(a variation)

sweat shallots, celery, carrots, turnips and onion (small dice)

remove from heat.

brown 1 pound ground lamb

mix half the aromatics with 1/2 the lamb in a casserole dish
(save the other half-we will make another meal manana-maybe pasta?)

smother with bernaise sauce

(store bought packet-cheap and idiot proof)

pipe whipped potatoes over the top

covering all

(don't have a piping bag? simply spoon- scoop potatoes over all)

place in oven until duchess potatoes are golden brown

serve piping hot

with garlic toast points

yumm

PS: better than sex

i think i'll finish with a bailey's

and dreams of sugarplums dancing....

(i am a man- when i'm done i rollover and sleep)

  1. pablo, wish I could have been there to share it with you. All my children are such good cooks. My Christmas dinner, prepared by Mike :Openers: Champagne with shrimp. with sauces, chicken liver pate then, ..Beet and Goat Cheese Arugula salad, topped with walnuts, Herb and Garlic crusted Pork roast, served with Plum Compote ( various dried fruits simmered with 3 cups port wine and sugar), Balsamic roasted Sweet Potatoes, topped with gorgonzola cheese, a baked broccoli and cauliflower gratin, rolls, and an Apple Claofuti Pie with coffee for dessert. Dinner served with choices of red or white wines.Ahhhhhhhh.
