i instructed the pledge class of '79

to slip a note under the door of a sorority president

announcing a "candlelight"

cut the words (letters) of the note from magazines and/or newspapers

sign it, sister x

(a candlelight occurs when a sister has been "pinned" (remember the day's?)

or engaged)

a few days later, the spies reported back.


the alpha phi's held their vigil

the candle was passed from sister to sister

and then back to the beginning...

(the pinned or engaged is supposed to blow it out)

"we've been had"

later, at an off campus mixer


the pledge class had to put on a play

for the phi's and their future brothers.

to conclude:

the 7 pledges lit a candle

passed it

and the 7th blew it out and said

"hi, i'm sister x"


ha ha ha ha.....
